Khushbu Sundar Comes Out in Support of Katrina Kaif Amid Social Media Trolling

Actress and politician Khushbu Sundar has voiced her support for actress Katrina Kaif after the latter was recently subjected to social media trolling over changes in her appearance following the birth of her son. Katrina has not responded to comments about the changes in her body, but her fans and several members of the film industry have rallied behind her. Khushbu Sundar has now shared a lengthy note questioning society’s attitudes towards women’s bodies and ageing while expressing her support for Katrina.

In her note, shared on Instagram and X, Khushbu questioned why changes in women’s bodies are so often turned into subjects of public discussion. Raising concerns over the double standards prevalent in society, she pointed out that when men’s hair turns grey, they are often described as “salt-and-pepper handsome” and mature. Balding and weight gain among men are also frequently associated with experience and personality. In contrast, as women age, their every wrinkle, change in weight and strand of grey hair often becomes a matter for public scrutiny.

Khushbu said this mindset of judging women based on how they looked during their younger years needs to change. Supporting Katrina, she said the actress was beautiful then, is beautiful today and always will be.

Khushbu also shared her own experience of changes in her body after motherhood. She said that when she gained weight, people mocked her and targeted her with comments about being overweight. However, after she lost weight, some of the same people accused her of having undergone injections to achieve the transformation.

In her message to Katrina, Khushbu said the actress does not owe anyone an explanation about her body, motherhood, weight or appearance. She stressed that women do not need to be accountable to men who assume they have the right to form opinions about them.

Khushbu urged Katrina to continue living her life on her own terms, with dignity and self-respect. She also emphasised that there is no single phase that defines a woman’s life as special; rather, every stage of her life is significant and special.
